4 star rating Surprisingly Good Italian in Ealing Have always been very negative of the Acton-Ealing area for food. But, recently have discovered a section of street off Ealing Broadway that has wall-to-wall bijou restaurants and this was the latest we tried.

It's fairly small and one can hear traffic noise through the open door. But, otherwise nicely decorated with atmosphere. The staff seem to be Italian and service was friendly and efficient - although perhaps not as polished as a high end eatery. But, it seemed that there was only one guy serving and it got quite busy after we arrived.

We were very hungry and it seemed ages before we got any food - even bread and oil with olives. But, I think the bread was being made fresh rather than just heated up - a special form of Italian flat bread that I had never had before and it was excellent. We ate the whole thing using the remains to mop up the broth from the excellent mussels we ordered as a starter. So, the wait was worth it.

We also ordered the stuffed mushrooms (FUNGHI GRATINATI), the salmon pasta, and OssoBuco. Everything was outstanding. Even the dessert we shared (BANOFFIE PIE) was one of the best I have had. Very chocolaty and not something I recall ever experienced before.

There are at least another 2 Italian restaurants nearby and if they are as good as Piccola Italia I can't wait to try them. However, I am sure we will return to Piccola Italia.

The starter was really tasty and taste fresh, the pizza, so, proudly I can call that Pizza, because find a proper pizza in uk is really hard but here the pizza was exactly how the pizza is supposed to be.

The torta della nonna was tasty and amaizing, and the last but not least, the waitress was really professional and helpfull. 5 star rating Amazing food This restaurant was a great find, we visited late on a Sunday evening, we were welcomed in by a lovely fellow. We sat outside as it was enclosed and warm. We were a party of 7, we gave our drinks order, then our main food order, we were given complementary flat bread And bruschetta, what a lovely gesture. When the food arrived it was amazing. There was a service charge but we didn’t mind as the service was second to none. All the staff were friendly. Will definitely return if I’m visiting the city again. 07/05/19

Took my son and our extended family to Piccolo Italia on Saturday night for his birthday and we all loved it. Great Italian food and excellent staff who were cheerful welcoming and accomodating. They set our table up with birthday decorations and served up a delicious Riccota & Pistachio birthday cake when the time was right. It was my first visit but I'll definitely be visiting again, I couldn't recommend it highly enough. 08/04/19
